Visitors also flock to the park to use the picnic facilities, playing fields, tennis courts, bridle paths, hiking and biking trails, and cross-country skiing trails. Bethpage State Park houses a restaurant and catering facilities, a Golf Pro Shop, and a driving range.

The American Airpower Museum operates as a non-profit 501(c)(3) aviation facility and educational foundation with state charter status. This distinctive institution stands out because its collection of historical aircraft remains largely functional, with regular flights conducted during spring and summer. Situated at the historic Republic Airport in Farmingdale, NY, the facility occupies land first developed in the 1920s by Fairchild and Grumman Aviation. The site later housed Seversky Aviation in the 1930s, which transformed into Republic Aviation in 1939. The company’s P-47 Thunderbolt, introduced in 1941, became World War II’s most extensively manufactured fighter, exceeding 15,000 units. Republic continued its legacy by producing the F-84, F-105, and A-10 fighters at this Long Island location. Currently, the museum resides in one of only three surviving Republic hangars.
